A bit off topic for guitarbuilders. I frequently go to rockconcerts, which are sometimes a "bit" too loud.
I have earplugs for motorcycling, but they distort the sound too much, so I'm about to buy me a pair of plugs for music. around 20 bucks or so. Does anyone of you have expirience with certain types or brands?

I use tissue paper, at all concerts. Luckily I started many years ago 1974 when I came home from a concert with my ears ringing.

In aviation we used (brandname) E*A*R foam earplugs that are available in bulk packages pretty much all over the place. Hardware stores, big-box home improvement/lumberyard stores, even drugstores. My wife uses them as a sleep aid. That's one brand among many. I think any gun store would also sell them. Inexpensive and easy to carry around. You sure don't need to spend twenty bucks. Two bucks is closer to the price.

For loud concerts and action movies my wife uses the "purple" ones from Walmart -- on occasion me too.

I tried the foamthings. But I don't find them pleasant, 'cause they have no flat conduction. Sounds get muddy. I looked around and for 10 they sell specific music oriented plugs. Well, I find me a proper pair. Thanks guys.

I invested in a set of "musician's" ear plugs and they are worth their weight in gold. They are custom molded and available at most any audiologist. They are also available with different filters. They are a lot cheaper than a hearing aid.

Well, I bought me these:
ACS ER20
As I have large eartubes, these also fall too deep in my ear. I did cut off the smallest bar. Now it fir just right and it works fine. All for 10 bucks. I'm statisfied.
