Yep, that is pretty much what I did but used my router table instead of the saw, which worked okay as long as I didn't try and take too deep a cut. I did another blank on EIR for the next guitar which will be for my wife, while I had the router and saddle slotting deal set up.
Yours turned out nice.

I've had the guitar in a case with a desiccant container at 45% humidity for a couple of weeks. The top had come back almost the dome it had before it sunk in. I decided to glue the bridge on, install the tuners, make the nut and saddle and I'm going to string it up in the "white" tonight and play this thing for awhile until early spring when the humidity drops enough so I can put the french polish on it.
When I glued on the bridge, it pulled the top back up into a dome just like I needed. There is still a very minor sunken area behind the bridge but it is almost flat again. So now I'll have to finish around the bridge but I am happy to see the top back where it needs to be. I'm excited to hear and play this guitar.
I will let you know how that goes, maybe even brave a sound clip! :)

Strings are on. D'Addario EJ46 Hard tension strings. It sounds good, well, much like you'd expect a classical guitar to sound. It is really bassy and has great sustain. The strings are still stretching, but in a couple of days I'll "try" and plays something and post the sound clip.
Action is a little high at the 12th fret even though I thought I had it dialed in. I forgot that my fretboard has a 20ft radius on it so I need to radius the saddle to match.

I have finally finished the WWII Japanese Katana semi restore project, so now I can begin the finishing process of this crossover guitar.
I am going to do a pore fill with shellac and sawdust, then do a french polish, mostly for the experience and fun of it. I need to make some action adjustments too.
I hope to begin this process on Thursday night.
