Abalone dots/eir fb

Post by Dave Bagwill » Fri Jan 30, 2015 12:05 am

My drill press is less than perfect, so the holes I drilled for the abalone fb markers are too large - a very very little bit, but I'd like make them perfect. Yes the abalone is already glued in.

I don't mind the extra work but do want it to look just right. What would be your suggestions?
Thanks

Use RW dust and thin CA to fill the gaps, level. You may have small pockets that didn't fill, I then use a black sharpie to color the dot, spritz the maker lightly with accelerator (the color will flow to the edge of the dot), let it dry completely then flow some thin ca over the dot. The gaps will fill with a dark color that should match the RW nicely. You may want to try this on a scrap piece with and extra dot id you have one.
I've "Ben-Had" again!
