Slotted head tuner jig

Post by Chris K » Sun Jan 11, 2015 4:37 pm

I've just arrived at the stage of my second kit build where I need to drill for the tuners on slotted head steel string guitar. I see that Stew offers a good looking but costly jig for the job. Any ideas for building one for myself?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi Chris

Pretty simple to make, use a backing block to prevent tear out, the extra chuck of wood there is a spacer to center the holes based on the HS thickness -- We get our drill bushing from McMaster Carr

Thanks Ken,

I'll look into that. Nice kit. I've enjoyed putting it together.
