fitting a Gibson style truss rod?

Post by mike-p » Thu Jan 08, 2015 5:17 pm

Anyone got any links/ ideas/ tips? I know they have to be angled in the neck but any idea on the angle? Headstock end adjustment. Thanks all,
Mike.

The key is to get the rod close to the outer neck surface to make sure that thinner wood will bend -- not the fingerboard side. The later design has a bowed rod with a matching curve on the wood filler strip.

Found the original patent plans which should help. Anyone use a headstock access truss rod?

Why not use a "more" modern truss rod? The owner will be appreciative, a trouble free TR is a comfort long term. $.02
