So, I know this process is going to be controversial to some but I have had great success with it and as I am going to pore fill this guitar with Aqua Coat clear, so I wanted to ensure I would get as little raised grain as possible.

To prep for pore filling, I do my final back and side (top is already done) sanding as follows:

1. sand to 100 grit
2. sand to 150 grit
3. wet (mist) the B/S, dry with hairdryer (this raises the grain)
4. sand to 150
5. wet (mist) the B/S, dry with hairdryer
6. sand to 220
7. wet (mist) the B/S, dry with hairdryer
8. sand to 220
9. seal with vinyl sealer (2 coats), allow to dry
10. pore fill
11. sand
12. seal with vinyl sealer (2 coats)

After this is done there is little grain raising and I believe this is important especially since Aqua clear is a water based product. I will report on how the pore filling went. I plan to follow Robbie O'Brien's video as my resource.
