Re: An HD-28 style for Tom T
More progress today. Got teh top glued on today. the last pic is of the brace I use in place of the popsicle brace. It is not a cross grain brace but runs parallel to the top grain.

Making the Finger board.
I used my FB radiusing jig and final sanded it with a block. I was going to video the jig (some of you have asked for it) but forgot my camera with the movie setting. I have another build in progress and will try to remember it then.

Well I got the top glued on and the excess trimmed off and installed the upper bout brace (substitute for popsicle brace. It is to help support that area from the compression and rotational forces of the string tension.

Installed the curly maple end wedge. I usually do this BEFORE I attach the top. This was the first time I overlooked it. Got ahead of myself, don't do that.

Re: An HD-28 style for Tom T
Got the sides all level sanded and routed the binding and purfling channels. I used this method of sanding the sides for the first time, I had been wanting to try it for a while now:

Have to say I think it worked great. I used a .015" and .010" piece of shim stock. The .020" piece felt too stiff to me.
