Amp Pak 12/10/14

After owning acoustic guitars for 54 years I'm finally being dragged into the 21st century. For our anniversary (48th) my wife bought me an in-soundhole pickup with a long cord, so I can plug in and play at the Last Saturday Open Mic deals I was invited to participate in at a local restaurant.

Stuck that in my formica Martin (DXM), my “road” unit, and it works well. That lead me to a before-Black-Friday acoustic guitar amplifier sale at the big-box git store in Kalamazoo, and the purchase of a mic.

The first thing I did after we were married I taught a night class for extra money to buy my wife a sewing machine. She's got more, better sewing machines now.

She said she'd make me a bag for the amplifier. I said, no, make it like the cover you made for my wire welder, like a paper grocery sack upside down, with a hole in the top for a handle. Make it about an inch short of the floor to keep it out of the mud, blood, and the beer. She said she could put pockets all around it and then it would hold the cords, the mic, and any of my ring-binder song books.

We bought what I thought was some inexpensive canvas material at a fabric shop, but turned out to be woven plastic. Oh, well, it's waterproof. And it will definitely cut down on the trips back to the truck if I play out.

Hey, Herman,

If I live to be 350 I'll never be a God of Rock n Roll Guitar. I learned about 3 chords at age 17 plus a couple sevenths, and with that you can play 99% of all folk, hillbilly, and blues music. I took up guitar because I like to sing and can't stay on pitch a capella.
They just let me play at the restaurant because they're humoring the old geezer, hah!
