Finished my first build KMG OM

Post by RexZim » Fri Dec 05, 2014 12:19 pm

I have finally finished my first build, which is a KMG OM with Spruce top, EIR back and sides and Maple binding. I just can't express how much fun it was and how challenging at the same time. It's not up to the par that so many of you have set, but I'm still proud of it. And, oh yeah, it was really fantastic to have such a high level of support from everyone on this forum, with special kudos to Ken and Dave Bagwill.

I built this one for my son and he says it sounds great though sound is not one of my own strengths.

Thanks for taking a look.

Well Rex, that is really amazing for a first guitar. To me the finish looks smooth as a baby's butt. Good job.

It does not look like a 'first' guitar, Rex - the fit and finish look very good, I'm glad that it plays and sounds good too!
Are you going to do another??

Yes Dave, I do intend to do another very soon. In fact I got all excited this morning when I saw that Ken has a stash of Walnut that he is now supplying with kits. My next build will be for my brother and as soon as I can pin him down I will be talking to Ken to configure my next one.

I also hope to post a sound clip as soon as my soon produces one for me.

Rex you've done yourself proud. Nice looking guitar. We'd love to hear it.
