Yeah -- I did not think the Doug Fir was going work as a cutaway -- I bend a lot of Cherry, if its 1/4 sawn if bends nicely --- never heard of the requirement to laminate??? Anybody can post anything on on any forum or any website -- so make sure the poster has credentials and real completed works.
