Herman, I found the sound of your maple guitar enchanting. It contradicted the sometimes assumed dogma that maple damps sustain. Makes me suspect the top is where most of the sound is determined as far as the instrument goes.

Do any of you have experiences with deeper bodied 00's?

Would adding some depth to a 00-12 add some low end that might be lost from the use of Figured Maple?

I believe making sure the sound board is not too stiff is most important -- light bracing and perimeter thinning. But, in reality its a small guitar and your concern is why bigger and bigger guitars have evolved.

Who doesn't love a few photos? I planed the figured maple a little last night to get a better sense of the depth of the figure - very excited about this set.
