Vidsen ein Bier bitte!
I do long to have a REAL Weizen beer...even though my meds won't allow me to drink beer any longer, I would have ONE if I could! Probably put me on my butt now! Hahaha! Coors Light it ain't!
Never found anything here in the States to compare and I've drank it all the way from Trier to the Swiss Border!
I have 38 glasses I've collected all over Germany and brought home to remind me of those I REALLY liked! Memories, memories, memories!
Centerline might be off an inch or two...but hey, if your that picky...a couple Weizens and you'll never notice! :>)
I know, I KNOW, "Off topic" but...ok... forgetaboutit :>)
Two Cherries curved chisel
Re: Two Cherries curved chisel
Ray I spent 27 months in Germany January 64 - April 66. Drank a whole lot of German Beer. None finer. Yes I have those kind of meds as well. But I think I'm allowed a glass of red wine daily. However I'm a California boy. Born and reared in Lodi. The Grape Capitol of the world. I was never satisfied with the assortment of wines available in these state run liquor stores. Not much to choose from. When as a youngster you cut your teeth on the homemade wines my friends fathers and grandfathers made, then spending over two years in the Rhone Valley where the greatest Reisling you ever tasted was 1DM( about a quarter American)then I guess you become a bit of a snob. Just looking for a decent Port none to be found in Tennessee. They grow beautiful girls in Tennessee. I've heard their whiskey is good also. Like you I don't know what this has to do with "Two Cherries"chisels but I have one and am looking forward to using it. Still even with Carols recovery I'm not spending time in my shop. Warmer weather is coming soon. The thermometer in my shop says 70 so I could be out there now. Meh!

Re: Two Cherries curved chisel
Oh I fully understand Lonnie, I have a friend who owns a family winery in Germany...over 200 years old, same family...what he makes for his own wine is miles apart from what he makes to sell to blenders...the Ice wine is unforgettable...I'll bet there's some great stuff in the Lodi area even yet..
I don't own any high dollar chisels, but I DO have a couple Stanley's that are quite old and work well...One I paid $2.00 for...I keep them scary sharp with Kens method and they do a great job. :>)

Re: Two Cherries curved chisel
I'll be losing my Two Cherries cherry in the next couple of days. I ordered the same 500-1716 curved chisel last week, and it should be here by tomorrow or Tuesday. I have several more Two Cherries gouges, skews, etc on my 'wish list' to the tune of $351.00. Soon they will be mine, all mine! Bwaaaahahahahaha! :D
