The rod I have used and liked the best thus far is the Gotoh Martin style single action rod. Light, strong, the right length, inexpensive compared to most of the others, well made and doesn't rattle. This is the one that has an aluminum square 3 sided tube with the rod suspended inside.

Yep -- I think that's a super design, those are the ones we supply in our kits.
