12 days - 2 guitars

Post by Tim Benware » Sun May 04, 2014 9:32 pm

This week I Completed my third "Learn to Build" class of the year. Many thanks to father and son - Igor (on the left) and Dennis (on the right). We built 2 guitars in 11 1/2 days. Igor's OM has Honduran Mahogany back and sides with a Carpathian Spruce top, black binding with Herringbone purfling, ebony FB and bridge, multi b/w/b rosette and MOP dot inlays. Dennis' Dred has East Indian Rosewood Back and sides, Carpathian Spruce top, curly maple binding with b/w/b purfling, ebony FB and bridge, abalone & EIR rosette, abalone dot inlays. Both guitars have Grover open back tuners.

Yes, what I call a student finish, 3 coats (1 coat = two sprays 5 min apart) of nitro, no sanding except any nibs, and light buffing.
