I had this made for me by a friend who does milling and I plan on using this for re-frets on the extension. It's attached to the end of a radius sanding block. Obviously not my idea but a whole lot cheaper than one from a commercial company we all know.

I must be having one of my "many senior" moments -- I'm not getting how that jig is used??

Re: Fret Press for extension
Don't feel bad Ken, a full time luthier on another web site had no idea what it was either.
It kind of works like this:
Except that Tim had his made by a friend for a much more appealing price than the big boys charge. I think I read that it was about $40 vs. the almost $200 for the version sold elsewhere.
Nice tool Tim. If I ever decide to fret after gluing on the FB, I wouldn't mind one of those!

I plan on using it in my repair work. I hate hammering over that part of the fretboard on refrets.

Maybe I should have posted this pic as well. It's on a neck I'm doing a reset on but would normally be used when the neck is attached. (sorry for it being blurry)
