This Tenor guitar is for my formar colleague, who thinks he is to old for learning to play a regular guitar. Since he plays tenorbanjo all his life, he liked to own a tenorguitar. It was a really fine project and it is quite easy to work on a small instrument like this.
As always were the first sound a bit dull, but after one to two days it opened nicely. So very promising for the future. I’m as clumsy on a tenorguitar as in a formula 1 car. Therefore no sample yet. I’ll ask the owner to make one for us.
So here it is: A Martin size 5 tenorguitar after the Scott Antes plan.Tuned CGDA.
-Sitka Spruce top
-Honduran Mahogany Back/Sides
-Ebony Fingerboard/Bridge and Headplate
-Curly Maple Binding
-Wengé Rosette

Very cute guitar. Well done. The guitar has a clean elegant look that I really like.

Re: Tenor Guitar
Very nice work, Herman. So is that size 5 basically a parlor guitar size?

Thanks. Don't know Dave. It's just a tiny shiny little bugga.

Excellent work! I must say however that I don't recall ever seeing a Martin tenor shaped like yours.
This is rather interesting on the subject of tenor guitars.
