Kevin thanks for input. How bout glue choice. Duco or titebond?.

Duco is the better choice since the glue line is invisible. Always use Duco or CA if any plastic is part of the rosette. If the rosette is a little loose Elmer's is a better choice rather than Titebond -- again the glue line is near invisible. The water based PVA adhesives will swell the wood fibers in an instant so its not a good choice for a tight fitting rosette ---- once the glue is applied you may not be able to get the rosette into the channel --- been there done it!
