If you happen to live near a Home Depot, check out the Ridgid compact router and the Bosch Colt side by side. I have the Bosch, but I hate the height adjuster (maybe they've improved it in a new model, but I haven't seen a new one). The Ridgid router has a great height adjuster and it gets good reviews. The Bosch and Ridgid both sell for about $100. No stores close to me carry the Grizzly product so I haven't seen one in person.

The Rigid does seem nice, I don't have one yet. Yes I dislike the adjusters on the Colt and the Porter Cable.

I will look at the Ridged . That is the grizzly I was looking at. I guess I might as well get something that will last awhile . What would be the best 1/4in bit to get for the binding attachment ? Thanks

I was building my first guitar and I was concerened about routing the binding channels. I have not used his binding attachment but I opted to go with his complete Binding Channel system. For me the system is very user friendly. It is very easy to set up for dead on accurate binding channels without the pucker factor of making a mistake. In fact it is almost impossible to mess it up even for a beginner like me. It is a very high quality machine and wont break the bank to purchase. It was a pleasure to rout my binding channels and I didnt sweat the process. This is only my opinion but I dont see how you could go wrong.

Both the devices were invented with the intent of "de-puckering" the channeling process.

I should have mentioned in my last post that my first guitar was not a KMG kit. I wish it had been. Anywhooo I have had the opportunity to use a few of Ken's tools and fixtures and know that ANYTHING he manufactures and suggests is going to be top notch quality and work perfectly making this guitar building endeaver more fun. I am anxiously waiting for my KMG modern D succes kit to arrive in a few days. Cant wait.
