Any experience/thoughts on this HF 12" disc sander?

I like the Griz 12", but $400 plus shipping is just too much. The Jet, same thing.

This HF is cheap, but maybe it's a hidden gem??

Dave, if you don't already have a disc sander, or if you have a little 6" like I had, you will be in sander heaven with a 12". If you can get your hands on a motor for cheap, I'll send you plans I have for making the base and tilting table. I got an old "new" 12" disc made for the ShopSmith on ebay for under $30 shipped and I bet you could find one for that or less. I made my base out of plywood and MDF.

Thanks Kevin - I think I remember that you posted something about that when you first built it.
I'll keep my eyes open for a disc and motor.

I might pick up that Ridgid tool as well.

An amazing value! I think I posted before that almost every single part we make touches that machine. And its a spindle sander too.
