Oval soundhole and rosette, What technique?

Post by Herman » Fri Feb 21, 2014 2:59 pm

Does anyone have a smart routing technique for making an oval soundhole and rosette? I'm thinking about making a few templates, but maybe I'm inventing the wheel again.

Make a mini -- Dremel size version of this there are several ready made versions for full size routers.

That is smart. Did not think of this way. But for a soundhole it should be really tiny, I guess

You scale it up to make the template -- then use the router base as the guide rather than a follower guide. never did, it but I know small scale ovals can be cut this way.
