You boys out in farm country probably already know about this thing - Kent gave me a 'cow magnet' - cows swallow them, and they sit in the stomach and attract assorted junk that is not good for the cow.
Grange item, under $5
Here is a pic - I vacuumed my piece of work carpet, then wrapped a single layer of shop towel over the magnet and then over the vacuumed carpet, and you can see the steel wool that was hidden in there. Also found a couple of brads.
Good times with a cow magnet!

That's funny...but yup, it really does work for cows, and now Dave...did you have a lot of trouble swallowing that? Bwahahahahaha......ok...I get it...I get it I mean "I" swallowed the whole thing and if I ask for one when the wife asks me what I want for Christmas....it's probably the only thing I'll get...and I'm thinkin' swallowing it won't be a problem, not a problem at all! Hummmmm Maybe I'll just keep quiet after all.... :>)

Sorry guys no magnets for me as I have a defibrillator and pacemaker in my chest. So I'm not allowed to play with magnets. Being a country boy I did know of the junk cows get in their stomachs. Once the magnet attracts all the wire and junk does the cow poop out the magnet or does it just stay in there collecting stuff?

The magnet settles in the rumen or reticulum and remains there for the life of the animal.

Ok that's more about cows then I knew. As a youngster I had to milk a few once in awhile. Occasionally by hand. Lots of fun. NOT. :0)
