I might suggest to Rick that the 11-50's are a bit light on the bass side, and that a .053 or even .056" might really balance it out, especially for playing with a slide. But it does look fun to play. I want to learn slide.

Here is the tuning situation from Rick:

"Ok, here is the tuning from low to high, FFCFAC. I start out in open G tuning then drop it one whole tone. I then take the sixth string and tune it up in unison with the fifth string. They are now both tuned to F. With the sixth string being thicker it gives it a nice harmonic ring in the lower registers when the sixth and fifth string are played together. It especially sounds suited for slide. It works for me."
