Ladder-braced parlor guitar

One chord played twice.
I promised my friend he would be the first to play it, so I just strummed a chord into a flip phone.
Don't judge too much on this clip alone - all this does is show sustain and volume, compared to my voice level.
In person - the whole guitar resonates marvelously and even though it is not even played yet, it rings out well. It should develop after just a couple of hours of good playing.

I really like the ladder-braced response and sound.

I can't believe this. I hooked up my laptop heard you strum the guitar. Very nice by the way. Then I went to reply and it sent me to sign in and of course I don't remember my password. Now I'm back on the phone and it's working great.

I had to download the clip and play it off my desktop in Windows Media Player.

Your git has incredible sustain. That would be troublesome for jazz, where the idea is for the notes to get out of the way of the next notes, but great for blues, where interference is key to the raunchy sound that makes you want to cry.

Good point John - well,my friend wanted ladder-braced for a reason - good 'ol blues. Like you said, a jangly, sustainy guitar is what the doctor orders when it comes to that kind of music.

Dave, I can't believe how long the notes ring...it is amazing.
Do you think you can attribute the long sustain to the ladder bracing?
