Solid or Laminated sides? Ribbon lining style (kerfing) - rim profiling, contouring and the logic for those choices

Thanks John...made me feel better already! Not doing too well today, 8AM in the morning I have to have the 3rd of 4 surgeries to keep my feet...so far so good, still makes me a bit nervous though, but I put my faith under one arm and tuck the right attitude under the other and go "Getter done!"
I don't really want to whack 8" off the legs of my bench and tool stands so I can reach 'em...too dang much work!!

When I get back and heal up a couple days, I'll get the mold on the bench and see if I can set up some pics thanks a LOT for your input!
