Nice clean work thus far, Dan. That's a nice joint.

I really enjoy shaping the braces.

I hope to do some audio recording of the top tap tone soon, to see if any of you can weigh in on how my top is sounding.

And here I did decide to install a popsicle brace - next time I'll get more adventurous

I'd been debating whether to try this on my first build, but couldn't resist. Using my Bosch colt and .25" carbide downcut bit I routed a back strip channel. Using digital calipers I measured from my center line for placement of a straight edge to guide the router. The bit cut beautifully, and I only needed to sand the width of the back strip slightly to get a snug fit. I used the same method as the binding channel, sanding a slight wedge into the strip so it would fit snugly in the channel once I applied clamping pressure.

Planing down the back strip a bit before finishing with the scraper.
