Binding the soundhole. I think the pix show the process pretty well. The upside down plane in the vise is one way to give the lams a good edge.
The big secret of course is what exact can did I put in the hole and then shim around. To stop a deluge of desperate emails (as if :-)) I will tell you - that is an empty can of Harry&David's Turkey Rub. So there the secret is out.

The last strip I put in the hole was, as you can see, taped in. I wanted to leave a soundhole of 3 3/4".

Soundhole binding done, top being glued on - there is cork around the perimeter , under the template that I am using as a caul.

Yes sir I was teasing a little. But not about your work. You amaze me with the way you go about thinks. Simple is always best. I was just thinking about binding a sound hole and here you go and show me how. Now you tell me. Just how cool is that? Keep it coming buddy. :0)

I like the new sound hole shapes your using on this one....oh...wait...that's a template huh...I think you're trying to fool me again! Ok...I'll move my too brain cells along.... :D
