Ken, I took care of that before I glued the back on.ken cierp wrote:No Clearance in the "Popsicle brace" for the truss rod adjustment wrench??
I was dreading bending the Herringbone purfling but it was an easy job after soaking the strip in hot water. I hope it holds it's shape after it dries. I never did any bending before.

Dennis, pretty creative way to bend the herringbone. Very nice work on your first. Congrats.

This forum has a wealth of excellent information. I just followed the Herringbone bending information posted by Ken in the Binding & Purfling section. The info says to expect some cracking but I had none, at least with this first piece.Bob Moore wrote:Dennis, pretty creative way to bend the herringbone. Very nice work on your first. Congrats.

Actually Alfred Sloan's method -- it does work great.

Re: My KMG OM-28V Project
I now have the body ready to rout the binding channels. However I had a minor problem with the routing guide attachment. I couldn't tighten the lag bolt properly because it spun in the guide channel (the wood was too soft). So, I chopped off the bottom of the guide and replaced it with a couple of maple rails, which should last a very long time. Here's a picture:
