Headstock design elicits sinful response

Dave, I have considered, but never executed, adding lead encased in epoxy in a routed cavity underneath the overlaid veneer. I made a 12-string with full sized Schallers that in effect did this, and its sustain is pretty remarkable, probably for the reasons John details. (I just wanted something that would stay in tune, which I got.)
