Too Big?

I modified the rosette to make it smaller. I used pieces parts from two different rosettes to acheive the desired diameter (not all pieces are the same length). I then glued the pieces to a thin piece of luan, I then carefully rotated it on the belt sander to reduce the width of the rosette from 1/4" to 3/16". The inside diameter was nearly 5" and now it's just under 4 1/2". The outside diameter was about 5 1/2" and now it is 4 7/8".
