Unamplified jazz guitar solos
Re: Unamplified jazz guitar solos
I am thinking in my "mind's ear" West Montgomery, Joe Pass, Pat Motheny is the Jazz Guitar sound I want to hear -- all use at least one pick-up at the FB extension.

Here is an unamplified Ken Parker archtop playing lead with a 1932 Gibson L-5 doing rhythm:

And another from the same set with a third flattop added in (the Gibson takes over at 2:00, then back to the Parker after 3:10):

Interesting "f-hole" on the Ken Parker. A very interesting interview with Parker about his design features:

Also found an Acoustic Guitar review on YouTube that features some rich finger style playing of a Ken Parker that begins at 3:35.

That first one was a really good mic'd sound - that's what I was hoping to hear from a good archtop. Thanks.
