I've been mulling over how I was going to get the capability of routing out rosette channels and cutting soundholes, and I've settled on making one of these bases after watching Chirs Paulick's YouTube videos on making one. He (Chris) mentioned that construction plans are available from Wells Guitars as part of a subscription to their 'Premium Luthier Articles'. I'm not grudging someone an income for his business activity, but I'd like to hear from anyone with experience with the subscription.
And parenthetically, can anyone share his opinions on what router would be a good choice for this tool? I have a new Porter Cable trim router I'd intended to use in Ken's handheld binding channel tool, but I can see how having a motor dedicated to both circle cutting and binding channels would be convenient. And I wouldn't mind buying another one so that both tools have a router in residence. And the Porter Cable might be a better choice for one of these two tools, but I don't know which.
Thanks, folks.
