This is the version I built and have been using for the past couple of years. It works well for me and what I do. I have about $100 into it. Had to buy the shaft and blocks. Found a 3/4 hp motor at work and it works fine. Never had any problems with power, but I tend to take light passes anyway. I made a few modifications to suit the materials I had available to me, but they are minor.
