first rosette
My first attempt at a rosette. Made with cut offs from the bloodwood sides and left over purfling scraps.

That's great! Love it! Any pics of your process? How did you glue on the purfling border? I never tried doing that outside of the rosette channel on my top! Good job!

Re: first rosette
I didn't think to take pics while I was making it. I used the method you had shown using a small work board with paper glued to it. I laid out the angles for the peices sandwiched the strips between them and glue it with ca. Used the circle cutting jig to cut out the circle. Then i used tape to wrap the purfling around the rosette. I thoght I might wait to add the purfling but I may add another strip of black to the outside and inside if I don't get a tight fit. I also used my new homemade drum sander to clean it up and thickness it while on the board.

It must have been a little difficult to get the purfling on the edge! Nice job! Glad my post helped!
