Yipes!! -- your pixel size is about ten times what it needs to be, it would be nice if you adjusted your camera so members don't have to jump off the page to see your images. Dave Bagwill also posted a nice resizing program real easy to use.

I'll try to sort out my pic size.

I've had a really frustrating week waiting for the country's crappest courier company to deliver two bloody brass rods so I can clamp and glue the fret ends. Does anyone have another technique for this not involving brass rods, I'm not convinced they will ever arrive and they weren't cheap. Grr.

Actually I use the brass rod because they are inexpensive and readily available -- they just brazing rods, a few cents apiece? Anyway, you could used any kind of wire that is straight or even strips of thin wood, but they'll dent and wear quickly. The idea is that your caul is passing over the crown of the FB and pinching the ends.

i thought that might be the case, i'll use wood and make a longer lasting jig when my expletive rods turn up.

Thanks Ken.

Bits of ply seem to have done the job. A little concerned about my fretboard/neck taper

for glueing the FB onto the neck i realise i should have put a radius onto an MDF caul using the unfretted FB. Too late for that unfortunately. Assuming a contoured caul is the necessity that i imagine it is, any tips?

I suppose i could fashion a number of small cauls to fit between the frets, contouring them by laying sandpaper on the surface of the FB and sanding small blocks against that?
