Rusty's PL 29 Antes Parlor
Re: Rusty's PL 29 Antes Parlor
These 2 pics show the 12th where it should be and then where the nut end actually falls if I line it up that way

Re: Rusty's PL 29 Antes Parlor
the body looks lovely, bet it'll sound great, I love a small body 12 fret joint (hopefully!) guitar.

Thanks Mike,
I think if I had bothered to read Kens question properly I could have saved myself a lot of grief.
Ken,
Ken. I see where you are coming from with that and YES if I place that 1st slot--the one that is the nut in reality--on the fingerboard plane then I have a perfect line up at the 12th
Does this make any sense to you ?

Ken,

Thanks Kevin, I'm looking forward to hearing how this sounds compared to a dreadnought or a bigger instrument. I've never even played a parlor so I can't wait to hear it.
Cheers

In my experience a small guitar can be just as loud as a large one but usually less rich/muddy/bassy/thuddy. Hope you'll post a video, where abouts in Ireland do you live?
Re: Rusty's PL 29 Antes Parlor
Yep -- looks good to go, its not uncommon to have a nut 1/4" wide and that seems to me, is about what you'll need.

Re: Rusty's PL 29 Antes Parlor
In one of the pics above you can see where I pore filled with Zpoxy and it went on the rosewood ok even though the sides were a little tricky. It was still a little sticky even after 6 hours --but not wet
.So, I left it overnight to be on the safe side and this morning I started sanding it back to apply a second coat--that seems to be the normal procedure according to many of the articles I read on it.
I found the sanding took me a lot longer than anticipated--about 2 hours or more--and I could probably go on and on as theres still SHINY areas left all over .
Does the Epoxy have to be completely sanded off -while leaving the pores filled obviously-- and does a second coat have to be sanded down again as well ?
Its a lot of sanding is all i'm saying.
Any expert finishers out there -Hopefully !!
