morning all, hoping to get my bindings installed today, i'm probably being a bit dim but i can't find any information about what glue to use for plastic binding. cheers all.

What glue did you use for the sound hole trim? Which is the same material.

I used ca but had to put sealer around the sound hole. Also a bit concerned about the quick bonding time.

Actually I do like using CA for prufs and bindings, sealing the channels is not a big deal. Yes you must have the bindings positioned perfectly before apply the CA. I think the "Duco" will work well with the white binding material but some of the Black binding is Boltaron which is a PVC and that should be fastened with the Weld-on.

I used Sigment glue for the white bindings on my resonator build. It is a clear fast drying glue similar to Duco. It softens the plastic surface (like Duco) so if you use it make certain you allow the glue to dry thoroughly before scraping or sanding the binding. I buy Sigment at a local hobby shop but I think Stewmac sells it for this purpose.

Thanks guys, got some thick CA from a model shop, don't want to hang around waiting for glue to arrive and i have the shellac sealer ready to go and the sealer should scrape off when i scrape the bindings back.

Getting very excited about this being a playable guitar. I was in a shop the other day and tried one of the new jackson browne signature acoustics modeled on his 30's roy smeck, deep body, walnut B&S and spruce top. It really was one of the best new acoustics i've ever played, if mine comes out half as good I'll be pleased (especially as it won't have me 5000 odd dollars!)

Hold your horses! You need thin CA for bindings -- the idea is that you seal the channels, tape the binding in place perfectly, leaving spaces between the strips of tape, drip some glue a tiny bit at a time in the spaces making sure as you move along that there are no gaps. Once tacked in place you remove the tape and flood the joint with the thin CA to secure.
