Although this instrument will be played acoustically most of the time, I do need amplification on occasion. For those curious about the Fishman pickup here's a picture of the installation. I had to cut the string notches and fit the bridge inserts to the spider very carefully. The insert caps are made from some extremely hard man made material that even Gerry Douglas can't seem to wear out. The wire lead will be routed through a small hole in the rim of the cone cutout and attached to the jack during final assembly. Construction is now basically complete except for clear coating & final assembly. Now if the weather would smarten up around here I could do some spraying outside.

Looks good. I had to google Jerry Douglas. Now i have to listen to some of his work. How am I supposed to get anything done at work if you people keep getting me distracted?

Jerry plays with Alison Krause and Union Station and its him on just about every other recording that has a Dobro in the track! He's awesome --- one of his first albums "Under the Wire" -- is reallly fabulous.

I now have 15 coats of nitro on this body. I just used up all the spray nitro I had on hand. I'll let it sit for 2 weeks before sanding and buffing. The neck is at my daughters for some artwork on the headstock. It's getting close. I've ordered a Roland Micro Cube amp for this guitar.

Ok Guys, BACK OFFF (LOL). He still needs at least six coats of clear to protect him.
