Re: Starting the J200 Jumbo
Finishing has begun. I pore filled the ebony, rosewood and mahogany with shellac and sawdust, then wiped on 2 very thin coats of shellac as a sealer (first time doing this, always used vinyl sealer in the past). I jus sprayed my first coat of nitro lacquer and the realized I forgot to mask off the b...

Re: Spraying Nitro Lacquer
Herman
that's good to hear. This one is maple, spruce, sapele, mahogany. ebony, with only rosewood back strip and endwedge. I'll seal those with shellac when I pore fill them and go for the lacquer.
Thanks Buddy

So I'm out of vinyl sealer. I've always sprayed it under the nitro because, well, I've assumed you're supposed to. Right?
Has anyone routinely skipped the sealer and just started with the lacquer, and if so how have the results been for you?
Thanks for any input.

This will be my 5th scroll but I still don't get/remember the process and concept to achieve the desired results so it's a slo...

Bocote for bridges, fretboard and binding
So I had this 36" x 4" x 3/4" Bocote board for a number of years and the other day I saw it and said to myself: I bet I can get some cool bridges from this. So today since I've been making up some bridges I looked again and figured out that I could get 2 bridges, 2 fretboard, and some...
