Finishing has begun. I pore filled the ebony, rosewood and mahogany with shellac and sawdust, then wiped on 2 very thin coats of shellac as a sealer (first time doing this, always used vinyl sealer in the past). that's good to hear. This one is maple, spruce, sapele, mahogany. ebony, with only rosewood back strip and endwedge. I'll seal those with shellac when I pore fill them and go for the lacquer.

Spraying Nitro Lacquer

So I'm out of vinyl sealer. I've always sprayed it under the nitro because, well, I've assumed you're supposed to. Right?

Has anyone routinely skipped the sealer and just started with the lacquer, and if so how have the results been for you?
