Are parts for a KMG kit still available anywhere?

Other than mahogany, cedar and maple, what other woods are good for making acoustic necks?

Can I drop fill dings in polyurethane the way I would with nitro?

Taylor strings their guitars UNDER the hole on the post and the tech at Gruhn's in Nashville strung my Martin UNDER the hole. So, which is best??? Or does it really matter??

Is there any reason why I couldn't turn a dovetail joint into a bolt-on joint by putting bolts in through the neck block and not gluing the joint ??

I posted this in another area (wrong one, I think) so I'll post it here also-I had some shellac flakes for a couple of years and I am having trouble getting them to dissolve in grain alcohol. Do they go bad after a time??
