French polish.
I like colourful tops with bits of bear claw, lucky for me most people dont like them!

This is a really interesting wood from Argentina, called Tineo. Its soft and light, between mahogany and black limba, but really nice to work with

Carl, Thats a really good looking guitar, looking forward to seeing it finished! I really liked working with oak and I'm defiantly going to use it more.
Think I took it to 2.7mm (I should check my notes) and then gave the back slightly taller braces than I would normally

Thanks for the kind words. I'm currently french polishing two more, so I'll post pictures when that never ending job is over. I'd be keen to see the fumed oak, hopefully it looks less stained under finish. I really liked working with oak, a bit springy when trying to bend it, but otherwise I really ...
