Re: Lowden "F" style Red Cedar/Mediterranean Cypress with sound

Impressive! Both the look and sound. It's fun to make an instrument for a real player and get to hear it as intended.

are you talking side purfling already glued to binding? If so
I do that too. I was wondering about top and back purflings by themselves, but probably bent along with binding or sides
Have you done that? You may be talking about this.
You are right, I bend purflings alone on a bending iron.

Re: Bending purflings in a heat blanket side bender

I do that. I take a pair of binding and tape them purfling to purfling. That way the purflings are actually clamped to the bindings, it allows the glue to soften and for the purflings to slide against the bindings in the bends. When they cool the glue resets.

Wow! Amazing looking. Looking forward to a sound sample. The 14.2GPa is sitka like stiffness for a softwood. Interesting

Re: Any comments on these?

Oh dear, I have about 15 guitars in the house. I will have to come up with someway to justify a new guitar to my partner.

It is a cool looking guitar. Does it breaks down at all for travel?
