Speaking of binding, trying to decide which route to take. I like fancy binding but with Ziricote, I dont think a fancy or figured wood would be the way to go as it may compete too much with the Ziricote..

I got the back plate glued up and added the braces. I had a difficult time finding the glue lines (I drew it out on it when I found them) and will add some strips over the joints. Turned out to be a pretty nice set after all..

I decided to cut the strip out and reglue. With some careful attention to the grain pattern, I was able to line things up very nicely. In this photo, the pieces are just butted against each other with no glue and i can barely see where the joints are.. well unless you look at the bottom of course..

Cutting the strip out would certainly be the safest route but at the cost of having the line where the two pieces meet. But the other way using epoxy will always leave the possibility of failure down the road with the crack still being visible.. the more I think about it there more it makes sense to...
