Re: workbench as a base for a go-bar deck

If you do that, Peter, notice the bottom deck is a rigid system with cross pieces about 2"- high. This has no flex for resisting the go-bar pressure and provides storage for the bars and F-clamps. Also the 4" blocks at the top of the corner supports can be alternated above or below the upp...

Re: workbench as a base for a go-bar deck

I don't know how much shop space you have, Paul, but I've got my homemade go-bar deck mounted on a Harbor Freight tool base on wheels. Since it's about 40" high to the bottom platform and quite a lot higher that my work benches, I use it a lot because I don't have to bend over to do lots of thi...

Re: Pinless Bridge Construction

Pinless Bridge Construction

Been making five bridges out of Manzanita and took some pics. Lots of it was done on the drill press set on the highest speed (3500 rpm). Laid out the string holes to 2 7/16" spread, 7/64" holes about 3/4" deep and then routed a 3/8" wide slot across the face of the holes with a ...

Re: Lastest Completion

Thanks for the complements. Herman, It's got what I'd call a big, round sound. That jumbo body and the QS Oak probably lends to that. I'm not much of a player anymore so not able to give it justice. I have a request of you folks. How about a tutorial or insight on how you get the beautiful pictures ...
