I really like your mold. I can't help but think it was difficult to align though. The savings in materials at todays prices make this look like a good option if I ever stray from the almighty dreadnought.

I suppose if I was in high production but really, hand saw and chisel make pretty quick work of this. They take up less space when I'm done also.

That is how I intend to do it as well. I was thinking of gluing the perimeter with a thin line of glue. If a few drops at the end work, I may try that. Thanks.

Seems like the current thicknessing is by ear. The woop woop sound when you hold the edges and vibrate it like a piece of sheet metal.

I have a lathe but I think the indestructible approach may be more accurate, especially on a long dowel. If you have a machinist lathe, well that be the best.

It seems to me that a perfectly quartersawn bridge would be more apt to split since the grain lines are in line with the pegs all the way through. I would think riff sawn would be better for bridges. Just thinking out loud.
