Thanks John, Not considered ladder bracing at all so the links are very interesting. The Grossman guitar details need further study and the other one seems to have so little of what I would call conventional bracing. I think at present I will go with twin tone bars behind a bridge plate and beef-up ...

OK made some changes to the overall concept, I've decided to make a smaller 12 string with an OM body size to start with before I commit to the Ovangkol and the larger GS body size. The schematic gives an idea of my thinking at present although bracing the top is still far from being decided at this...

It works what else can I say.

Initially went to build a take on the StewMac intonator but ended up using a round polished needle. Noticed that the marking gave me two lines so added two hex (Allen) keys to try things out...

I've never used that particular WB product -- but there are advantages to not waiting too long, one is that leveling with 400 grit is easier when the coating is not super hard. And yes I highly recommend fine grit for leveling 600 is even better. Certainly starting with 220g is more aggressive but ...
