Lost in translation
I happened across this cheap Chinese thermometer/hygrometer today and had to laugh. Imagine you are a person who speaks no English, and your job is to create the faceplate for the product with English text. Naturally you type some text in your native language into a translation program, and then cop...

Re: Brace grain question
I'm still a newbie so I mostly try to learn from the experience of others, and I've been making braces shaped like the one on the right - but does anyone really make them like the one on the left anymore? I just haven't come across examples of that so maybe enough people have read Somogyi's book and...

Re: Good deals to be had
Way funny, but actually that "moron lamp" looks pretty useful, as it would throw less light to the sides and moron what I'm doing.

Re: Pore-filling saga
Nice Dave, but that still sounds too time-consuming. I plan to use this tool that fills and polishes in one step, haven't tried it on a guitar yet but you can see the fast build-up I got on this concrete countertop: http://brainright.com/OurHouse/Construction/Countertops/CottageBath/20100526015_Cott...

Re: Bob Taylor video on sourcing spruce
Eric, thanks for posting those. I will be doing something very similar soon, as I've lined up some local blue spruce trees that the property owner doesn't want and I can cut for guitar tops. The trees are not quite that big so I think I can get by with a smaller helicopter, or maybe just a wheelbarr...
