Re: Electrical help please
[quote="ken cierp"]... those fasteners sticking up will cause you endless grief Those screws do suck. I cut my top metal strip so it will fit in between them, however. They actually seem to keep the strip from sliding back and forth but I would prefer it to be cleaner, as is yours. I was a...

Re: Electrical help please
I wanted them to roll over the surface, via a gloved hand, so they wouldn't drag the material with them You know that a metal slat on top of the wood sides is not an option --- right? And please assure us that you understand that nothing in this post is more important than this: and do not use with...

Re: Electrical help please
Hey Walter. It looks like your waist press pivots and will swing down out of the way so you can remove the bent side? If not, I think you're going to have difficulty getting the side out. My tower is much taller, and I have to remove the caul from the screw to remove the bent sides from my bender. ...

Electrical help please
I built this 3-light bender utilizing different aspects of different benders I've seen here and elsewhere. I used a caulking gun as my waist press, and created shape specific removable blocks for it (see pictures). Shown is the unit with an OM form installed. I used 1/4" dowels on the base with...

Re: Persimmon?
I agree. RC Tonewoods has some from time to time and I think I might like to try it in the future. If its an ebony, I suppose it might produce results similar to macassar. Hopefully someone else will chime in with some info on this.Dave Bagwill wrote:Never heard of that, Walter - it might be a fun experiment.
