I know that it's the cream of the crop but, with the cost for sets of any thing I would build with and it's proclivity to crack I've found that I'd rather work with other woods.

I use to go there to. We also had one of their stores in town. At Ton Tin they go through a lot of wood and if they see something they know I'd like they'll put it aside for me. They're a production shop so they don't like letting folks go through the bunks for 1 pc. of wood. Most of the really good...

I've found that gorilla glue works good for fingerboards. I only dampen the fingerboard a little to help the process. I use hide glue for the part you glue to the top. I have used heat to remove both from the body and neck.

I use a Baker Horizontal Re-saw from the custom architectural shop I retired from. It has a 30 HP motor and hydraulic hold down feed system. Haven't found a wood I can't re-saw. I get to high grade new shipments, so I get most of my mahogany and domestic woods there. Most of the tops I use I bought ...
