Re: Engelmann Spruce Top and Honduran Mahogany B&S
I finally finished this one on Sunday evening. I strung it up about 8:15 that evening, and at first was a bit disappointed. No bass, no volume, and no sustain. I was expecting it to be kinda loud with some good decent bass, and of course with sustain, since I had built the top pretty thin, and the b...

Tim, I'm jealous of your good, no, great work with the dovetail. I only did one and it nearly killed me.

Re: Ladder-braced parlor guitar
Oh, Dave. That's spectacular. Got any more you need to get rid of? I know it's taking up too much space at your place. :)

Rules or Scales in guitar building - question
What type of rules or scales do you prefer for guitar building? How exact do they need to be? Do you use mm's, decimal inches, fractional inches, what combinations? What increments are needed - 64th", .1mm? How long are they? I'm going to start building #5 in the next month or so, and thought I...

Re: Engelmann Spruce Top and Honduran Mahogany B&S
Ken, thanks for the advice on the holes. Yesterday evening when I was taping up the fretboard, I got to thinking about that. I intended to re-visit it today, but probably would have forgot if you hadn't mentioned it. I'll be changing that momentarily. I also bow to your definition of Luthier. Someti...
