Remember that Simpson mortise and tenon jig?
It still works although not super accurate.

Yesterday I began to figure out my screw down fretboard extension setup. Made a block that will hold the T nuts and be glued to the fretboard bottom and made a pattern and routed the cavity in the top. Took lots of time fitting and fiddling with this but it looks like it will work. Today I'll install the nuts, drill holes, etc. Not ready to glue the block to the fretboard yet. I want to install most of the frets first other than where the locating pins go......I think.

John. Why do my pics turn 90 degrees when I upload them?
The price was right!

It used to be digital photos basically were oriented however the camera was. Upside down camera upside down pictures. Then the cameras got orientation sensors, they knew they were upside down. The jpeg standard added a field in the metadata giving the orientation, the payload, the picture itself, stayed the same. Now we are in a situation where half the software uses the orientation when displaying the picture the other half doesn't. WIndows itself does so it looks right in the file explorer. Unfortunately if you rotate a picture in the file explorer it just changes the metadata not the picture. This software down not look at the metadata.

I use photoshop to reduce all of my images when they write the reduced image they turn the picture for real.

My version of a screw down fretboard extension coming together. Looked at a couple of pictures of others setup and just went for it. I think it's going to work. Now ready to glue the fretboard to the neck.

Gluing the fretboard down after installing the 15 to 21st frets.
Also started pore filling the walnut body. For this I like using end grain sawdust and shellac.

Kevin, this looks real familiar. If this is your first pass at bolting on the fretboard extension, I suggest using studs on the extension, locktited in with 'weak' threadlocker, and nuts and washers on the inside. I found nuts and washers vastly easier to attach instead of trying to get bolts/screws run in from the inside. Did that exactly once. If that guitar ever comes apart, the screws will get tossed in favor of studs/nuts.

That is cool, a bolt on bolt off neck. I ended up getting a close quarters ratchet wrench were the bit is basically in the handle to have enough room to tighter the bolts through the sound hole. I do see the value of Peter's suggestion as a bolt would be easier to start.

What screws into the t-nuts? I can't understand their function.

Peter that may be a good idea. I didn't want something that could "come loose" such as studs epoxies in but probably works with the right application.
Dave. I put an 3/4" thick extension on the neck block to route the pocket in. 10/24 socket head screws thread into the t nuts from inside the guitar pulling the fretboard down. Simple but not so to execute with my Simple minded process. However it all came out to fit nicely.
